Stadium Wi-Fi
Last night I went to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts to see my Philadelphia Union take on the New England Revolution. ![]()
I wanted to post a photo to Twitter and Facebook. ![]()
Twitter posted quickly over 3G but the upload to Facebook stalled again and again. I wasn't surprised. Cell network coverage in stadiums of 10s of thousands of people rarely works well. ![]()
I am trained to check for Wi-Fi in these types of situations so I gave a look and found an open Wi-Fi network. I connected to "GilletteStadium" and was able to upload my photo. ![]()
Teams should equip their stadiums with quality wireless networks. Every photo shared from a game is another advertisement for your team and venue. Fast photo upload will lead to more photos being taken and more ads for your brand's experience. ![]()
