Improv
I signed up for an entry level Improv class that starts in March. ![]()
In the past two years, I have taken three comedy classes: one improv and two levels of sketch writing. ![]()
Improv is kind of like team comedy practice. I like that you can just show up empty handed and go. ![]()
Sketch was different and hard. Writing comedy is challenging. Getting feedback from other students is the real value of a sketch writing class. In the end I enjoyed performing the sketches more than writing them. ![]()
In December of last year we had a showcase for our Sketch 201 class. It was my first time performing comedy in front of strangers. I purposely didn't invite anyone to the event. I have no idea how it went over but it was a rush. ![]()
Comedy seems like it would be the furthest thing from software development. It is. That's why I like it. Comedy excercises an entirely different part of my brain. ![]()
Both comedy and software foster my creativity. I think the comedy experience affects the software one and vice-versa. ![]()
I have found myself improv in the software world. Gotta be quick on your feet :) ![]()
